Filmmakers Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw filmed their documentary GAUCHO GAUCHO in the Province of Salta, in the northwest region of Argentina. The film, which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Documentary Competition, focuses on an ensemble of gauchos living beyond the boundaries of the modern world. It weaves together a mosaic of tales about gauchos confronting the fragility of their world in the face of unprecedented change. The stories follow the lives of men and women of different ages, backgrounds, and talents who are all connected in their fight to remain free.
Michael & Gregory curated a selection of their favorite images from the film to be presented as a gallery show. A portion of the sale of the film stills will be donated to impact programs Michael & Gregory have established in the Salta region. The impact programs focus on water availability and purity as well as the general needs of the community they filmed. These philanthropic initiatives reflect the filmmakers' dedication to making a positive impact on the region that served as the backdrop for their evocative documentary.
These film stills can be purchased directly or through the Utah Film Commission for a tax deductible contribution.
