Fifth Annual Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink Raises $1.8 Million for Research

This past Saturday, the Hamptons community showed its unwavering support for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at the fifth annual Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink by raising more than $1.8 million for breast cancer research.

The two-part summer event was co-chaired by Maria & Larry Baum, Lisa Pevaroff-Cohn & Gary Cohn, Kinga & Edward Lampert, and Jackie & Bippy Siegal, and hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow. The WPA-sanctioned morning paddle board race at Haven’s Beach was led by Tracy Anderson, Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece. It kicked off with 200 paddlers, including winner of the “Best Team” award, ANN INC. The race commenced after a moving speech by Maria Baum, who spoke of her personal experience with breast cancer. Founder of standup paddle boarding, Laird Hamilton presented race winners with their awards alongside his wife Gabby Reece.

The festivities continued at the Sunset Party at Fairview on Mecox Bay in Bridgehampton where host Gwyneth Paltrow kicked off the evening. The star-studded soirée included a live performance by GRAMMY Award winning performers CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers and the night was capped off with a music set by Brendan Fallis. A highlight of the evening was a live and silent auction with exclusive packages, as well as custom surf and paddle boards on display for bidding. The boards were designed by esteemed artists including Matt Bond, Mark Boomershine, Christina Burch, Tory Burch, Eric Cahan, Michael Dweck, Natasha Law, Greg Miller, Nicole Miller, Scott O’Neil, Lisa Perry, Lisa Pevaroff-Cohn, and Donald Robertson.

The evening served as a celebration for the progress we’ve made in prevention and treatment of the disease while reaffirming our commitment to be the end of breast cancer.

The generosity of the Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink community allows us to support seven research projects–translating to nearly 15,000 hours of lab time for our scientists–for the coming year. As these scientists work toward discovering new ways to prevent, treat and eradicate breast cancer, please know that all support and contributions are making a difference for millions of women and men throughout the world.
